Pittsburgh Edition

line

Welcome to the Wisdom Corridor Project in Pittsburgh, the city of bridges! Our little idea from the foothills of the Himalayas made its way to the USA, connecting students and teachers through love & learning. The students have transformed the school corridors into vibrant learning environments that showcase powerful life lessons. From zoom meet-ups to late night calls and training sessions, this has been a special edition.

Let’s soak in the wisdom harvested from this wise city!

"Watching the kids move from peers to friends was my favourite part. When we started, they really didn't know each other or talk much, but by our last meeting, I couldn't contain the talking and camaraderie. The kids really enjoyed getting to know their teachers! It was great to not only show them the research process, but also challenge them to strive for honesty and accuracy in how they portrayed someone else's words. We are looking forward to replicating this project for many years to come. Having Deepak visit right after we finished our wisdom wall was a great capstone to the project, and we are looking forward to sharing that experience with Richa too! You are amazing and I am so grateful that we were part of this cohort! Our superintendent is already asking us to make this a district wide initiative."

"This semester, my 3rd grade son is going through the Wisdom Corridor training. Mason looks forward to his classes and wakes up excited for WC days! He has been interviewing as many people as possible-not as an assignment, just for his own knowledge. He has collected life lessons from his parents, grandparents, sister, neighbors (including a toddler!) and his peers. Three of his friends sat in the yard last night and interviewed each other. The impact of the project has really resonated with him and he’s trying to learn and document as much as possible. We are thinking about putting a Wisdom Corridor in our house!"

Bridget Belardi

Parent

"I have had a wonderful experience with the Wisdom Corridor project. It allowed me to connect with my students in a way that we had not been able to before. It sounds funny, but we connected as just fellow humans, and not as teacher and student. And that connection was made with all of the participants. People who would just naturally assume their normal roles of leaders, teachers, teenagers and elementary school students suddenly became... just people...with common interests, common concerns, common fears, and common dreams. It has been a unifying experience. "
